What?!! Three months already?!!! & Lydia's first selfie :)

I can't believe the last time I posted was Lydia's two-month birthday post, and now a whole month has passed!!! Crazy!!! She is growing so fast and getting more and more personality every day. Take yesterday, for example. While I brushed my teeth, Mitch sang to Lydia in her bassinet while spinning her little mobile of jungle creatures. Just as she was nodding off, he stopped singing and spinning. Lydia suddenly opened her eyes wide, stared right at Mitch and started kicking her feet, signifying her demand that the music and spinnage continue! :) Even in her swing, she will get herself into whatever position necessary in order to watch the little bears swing.

Below is a picture I took of her the other day but Mitch pointed out that it totally looks like she is taking a selfie! :) So cute! We can't tell if her eyes are going to stay blue or turn brown, they look lighter some days and darker other days. We'll see! She's also wearing our favorite outfit, thanks Kate Walters and Ruthie Cheeseman for buying it for her!!! :D It makes her eyes seem more blue when she wears it.

Pinterest picture attempt:

I love this picture on pinterest where the husband, wife and baby all have their hands stacked on top of each other and it's so cute! We figured Lydia would need to be asleep for it, and my dearest friend, Tiffany Jencks Donalson helped get her to sleep, but she woke up right when we started taking pictures! We'll have to try again soon when she is deep in slumber. :) They're still cute though I think.

Lydia has started sucking on everything!!! She loves to suck on her fingers especially, sometimes she'll even try to fit her whole fist in her mouth! She also loves sucking on the nose of Beary, her little brown bear.

She even loves sucking on her baby carrier, which I FINALLY figured out how to put on comfortably for both of us.

Here we were, laying in the grass for the very first time! She thought it would be tasty to suck on my hair...

I love this picture of her sitting up in the grass. She loves sitting up with a little help or grabbing our fingers so we can pull her into a sitting position. It's crazy how much she looks like Mitch more and more every day!

Unlike Mitch though, she has quite the bald spot on the back of her head...more like bald stripe. :) It just keeps growing longer on the bottom though, giving her the cutest baby mullet. ;)

The other cutest thing in the world she does now other than suck on everything is coo! I LOVE hearing the sound of her little voice now all the time, and I think she is fascinated by it too. :)

I took that video while at the home of Summer Harper, my sister-in-law. Thursdays are "sisters and cousin's days," and for the last one we canned peaches! I told Summer and my sister Kay that I was pretty proud of us for succeeding in canning 48 quarts of peaches in one day with 5 kids running around and baby Lydia. My tongue was numb after a while of eating all the peels of the peaches I sliced as we put them in the jars. :)

Our hibiscus bloomed again! Probably for the last time this year and despite our going out of town. Thanks Katie Ellingston for watering it! :)

Mitchy is starting his very last year of school at BYU, I can hardly believe it! Next week marks the beginning of his last year of the Information Systems master's. We decided to go on a family walk to see where all of his classes were and show Lydia BYU campus. She wore her hat she got from Mitch's cousin, Islay Brown. :)

We both felt super nostalgic as we walked around campus, talking about all of our memories here. Other than the 18 months of my mission, I've been here at BYU since fall of 2007. I graduated in 2013 and soon we'll be all finished. It's been wonderful.

Campus Ariel

I took a fun picture of Mitchy standing in front of Karl G. Maser. Now I just need to draw a chalk circle around him. :)

I finished two more pages in my Book of Mormon quiet book! I'm 1/3 of the way finished now with 6 pages down!

This one is Nephi and Zoram at the door of Laban's treasury in Jerusalem. Nephi is dressed in Laban's armor and Zoram is holding the keys to the treasury! You start at the door and work your way to the brass plates that contain the records of the prophets, including the books of Moses! :)

This is my favorite story in The Book of Mormon, and my favorite page in my quiet book when Jesus Christ was resurrected and came down to visit the people on the American continent. On this page you lift up the sparkly cloud and slide Jesus down from the sky to the top of the Temple. :)

We recently visited our family up in Kaysville and it was fun to see everyone up there!:D

Here is Uncle Nathan holding baby Lydia while they catch some Z's.

Aunt Hannah is being ever so patient as Lydia pulls and sucks on her hair!

Here is Grandpa Steed with baby Lydia:

and Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Robison.

We did all kinds of fun things. My mother-in-law, Kristin, taught me how to make pizza bread and Reuben sandwich bread! I was so proud of them! :D Mitchy is especially happy that I know how to make them now.

I also helped Hannah make a quilt for her bed. It was her first quilt and she picked it up so fast! All the blocks were finished in 6 days!!! It is beautiful and in this picture there is just one more seam to finish.

The Steeds also took me to a Kaysville classic: Granny Annie's! It was my and Lydia's first time being there and it was delicious! David took this picture for us:

We also attended the wedding of Mitch's Uncle Doug to his fiance, Peach. It was a beautiful wedding at the Hill Air Force Base and we are SO happy for them! Lydia wore her little purple dress from Grandma Robison and her sparkly purple shoes from Summer Harper. :) She was so good for the whole wedding!

We just started a new family tradition of reading from a chapter book with Lydia each night! Mitch had already read her almost all of the children's books we bought, and we were so excited to see how much she loves looking at all the pictures in the Illustrated Classics collection and loves even more the voices Mitch does when he reads to her. Here he is reading her The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I read the girl voices like Becky and Aunt Penny and Mitch does all the boys. Lydia sure loves looking at pictures of all kinds.

Here is Lydia in her crib snuggling with her dear friends, Nemo, Yoda and Beary. :)

Well that's about it for updates, here are a few more fun pictures including

Lydia's cute foot:

Another family walk to the Provo Temple:

Cute faces on her changing table, still her favorite place in the house:

and lastly Lydia sleeping in her bassinet, the way she always does now with her hands behind her head. :) Have a great week!
